Hello! I’m Tobechi Duru, a Lagos-based Software Engineer driven by a passion for turning complex problems into elegant, scalable web solutions. With a strong focus on the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), I specialize in building modern applications that balance performance with user-centered design.
My formal transition into tech was shaped by a 1-year intensive Diploma in Software Engineering from ALX-Holberton School, where I immersed myself in project-based learning that emphasized not just coding, but thinking like an engineer. Through this experience, I honed practical skills in full-stack development, algorithms, data structures, and system design — equipping me to thrive in fast-paced, real-world environments.
Before tech, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from FUTO. While that path gave me a solid foundation in logic and structural thinking, my curiosity and love for innovation led me to software development — a space where I could build solutions not of concrete and steel, but of logic and creativity, with global reach and digital impact.
I take pride in designing intuitive user interfaces, architecting efficient backend systems, integrating APIs, and constantly optimizing for performance and accessibility. Each line of code is written with precision, empathy, and a mindset for scalability.
Outside of work, I’m an avid football enthusiast, gamer, and someone who deeply values connection — whether it’s over a weekend match or a quiet evening with loved ones. I believe that great engineering isn’t just about the code, but about the people it serves. My goal is to always build with purpose, passion, and a human touch.
